The Toowoomba City Council proposes to have the CSIRO test its recycled sewage and sign off that it is safe for human consumption.

The CSIRO is currently under fire from a number of people (nutritionists and leading science journal Nature) over its best selling diet book (funded by the meat and livestock industry) which promotes a high protein-low carbohydrate diet.

Science journal Nature said the marketing of the diet as "scientifically proven" was "decidedly unsavoury".
