$3 million visitors centre - more photos of Singapore's version ...

Click here - Singapore NEWater visitors centre - for more photos of the NEWater visitors centre in Singapore.

Designed by CH2M Hill, these photos give a good idea of the Council's plans for Toowoomba's $3 million visitors centre.

The link is to the website of the ceiling company involved in the project. Interestingly, they make the following comment regarding NEWater:

"Singapore has moved aggressively over the past few years to find alternatives to importing water from Malaysia. One such alternative is Newater, "used water" from baths and kitchens that is purified, then re-introduced into Singapore's water system."

Water from baths and kitchens - no mention of sewage from toilets ...

Does anyone know how they came up with $3 million for the visitors centre?

Why it is needed for Toowoomba residents I have no idea!

I think they plucked the amount out of the air and thought it sounded ok.

This centre is being built using the rate payers money of $3m just so the Council can sell it to the rest of Australia. We are to be the "living Lab" and I wonder how that make you feel?

The rest of Australia and the world. They're hoping for visitors from everywhere to see the system working. I wonder who benefits from this?

It certainly won't be the Toowoomba residents - this is a scam on the public - a huge waste of taxpayers' and ratepayers' money - to benefit a few big companies.
