Premier Beattie's "independent" review - gas water considered ..

Page 89 (Table 9-3) of Premier Beattie's "independent" review of water options is a little misleading.

(This is not surprising given the age of some of the documents used by his consultants.)

On Page 89, it states that there are "concerns over health implications of water from CSG [coal seam gas] production".

Interestingly, this is the same gas water to be utilised by Chinchilla and Dalby for their town water supplies.

It is the same gas water which has received both State and Federal government funding for use in Dalby's town water supply (See - Dalby Town Council press release).

So, Premier Beattie's consultants are saying that there are question marks over the health of using gas water while, at the same time, Premier Beattie's government is providing money to Dalby to use the same gas water in their water supply.

Something doesn't add up.

And it looks like sloppy and negligent work by Premier Beattie's consultants.

Are they not aware of the State and Federal government funding provided to Dalby for gas water?

This review is looking more and more like another "quick and dirty" review by the State government ...
