Mayor Thorley - all information to be made available ...

Comments by Mayor Thorley on the Federal government decision:

“I believe that logic and reason will prevail.”

“We just need to ensure that all the information is made available to people.”

We are going to hold you to that statement - it should include information on all options - not just the same old slick overview and dismissal of options by the Council as we have seen to date.

Director of Engineering Services Flanagan, Mayor Thorley and Deputy Mayor Ramia, consider yourselves on notice - play an honest and straight game from here on out.

From WIN News:

BURST WATER MAIN

Council defends infrastructure

Toowoomba City Council is defending its infrastructure, after three burst water mains washed thousands of litres down the drain overnight.

The Deputy Mayor says Council has no way of predicting where problems might arise, but says a reduction in the city's water pressure may be a solution.

A great time to check all the cities mains and lay the purple pipe system while they are at it.
People of Toowomba would be happy, recycling would begin and the old delapidated mains pipes would be fixed. Perhaps expensive but a worthwhile venture at saving our water. The old mains aren't going to last forever and who knows how much water is just seeping its way out without anyone knowing about it!

Thorley cares nothing that we lost that water to the creeks, she is still more insterested in recycling shit for us to drink.

It's about time she stopped smelling her fingers after scratching her butt and fix our pipes before more burst.

Joe.R states they have no idea when or where a pipe will burst,,, bull, they know when the pipes were installed and how old they are, it's a simple matter of logic and checking, which the council can't grasp.

Water escaping when the pipes burst = less water for residents = water runs out sooner = scare tactics work = panic residents = might accept drinking recycled poo.

The CSIRO would still have to pass the water from DI's recycling plant in Cooby. What happens if they don't? Does TCC have a contingency plan? My bet is "NO"

There's no contingency plan in the NWC application.

Also, the whole plan of putting recycled water into Cooby dam is based on the drought breaking and the dam filling. If it doesn't the plan doesn't work.

I guess the mains burst because they don't want to carry Thorley Water and are suiciding now before it's too late.

This is also time for Thorley to lower mains preasure, might be a good idea, but just anohter cover up to solve a situation needing attention. Is that all our council is good for, seek the easy way out of problem and hope it goes away?
