About Me
- Name: Concerned Ratepayer
- Location: Australia
For many years, the 4350water blog has informed readers of plans by the Toowoomba City Council (now Toowoomba Regional Council) and the Qld government to introduce recycled water for drinking in Toowoomba. It has also looked at the issue from a State and Federal perspective and dealt with related State and Federal political issues. There continues to be a need for the Toowoomba Regional Council to be completely transparent in its dealings with the ratepayers and residents of Toowoomba. There also continues to be a need for open debate on the benefits and risks of potable reuse and long-term studies on the effects on humans of drinking recycled water. Coal seam gas water is emerging as a possible alternate water source for some uses for the region. The 4350water blog is a collective effort and thanks go to its many contributors.

Outlining her new Cabinet, Ms Bligh's first media conference as Premier was going smoothly until her new Treasurer Andrew Fraser tripped up.
"I want to be a future focused Premier, ah sorry a future focused Treasurer," he said.
"I would like to be a future focused Treasurer because the future focussed Premier beside me has given me that task."

Minister Fraser's bike was well and truly stolen yesterday.
Excerpt from the Courier Mail:
Andrew Fraser fumbles economic lines
14 September 2007
New Treasurer Andrew Fraser fumbled his first press conference in the job, and then could not answer five basic questions about the state's economy.
The former local government minister, who turns 31 this weekend, admitted his reference to himself as "Premier" was not a good start, but it would be his last mistake in his new portfolio.
But the new Treasurer also conceded he didn't know basic economic issues, despite having been in Cabinet for more than a year and once being parliamentary secretary to the premier and treasurer under Peter Beattie.
The issues he struggled with included the amount of GST revenue the state received and the forecast for economic growth in Queensland.
But he promised that he "would be all over it like a rash" by the end of his first day in office.
