Goulburnites want to drink recycled sewage - or do they?
Interesting piece on Nine News last evening describing how the people of Goulburn, unlike Toowoomba, are agreeable to drinking recycled sewage.
Goulburn's proposal involves a 10% mix with the recycled sewage pumped through wetlands. (Mayor Thorley's proposal, at between 25-29% recycled sewage, is not done anywhere else in the world)
Word on the street is that a vocal opposition to Goulburn's plans is gathering pace.
Goulburn's proposal seems somewhat out of step with plans for the greater Sydney metropolitan area.
But then, Mayor Thorley's controversial plans for Toowoomba are out of step with Brisbane and the rest of Queensland ...

These people are on the right track because if they join forces with the people in CADS in Poowoomba we will frighten the pants off the Feds.

Why is that these councils are let get away with their behaviour?
I personally believe it is time we brought in a 2 tier Govt and got rid of all these local authorities. Their are wasting our money, it is all duplicated.
If we had only 2 tiers of Govt prehaps more money could be spent on necessary infrastracture, instead of having mayors and councillors wasting public money.

But the mayor loves tripping around the country at ratepayers' expense - it's like one big long holiday with frequent flyer miles attached!
