KEVIN FLANAGAN, COUNCIL'S CHIEF ENGINEER: I have confidence people in Toowoomba will embrace the water futures project mainly because the community will be given enough information to understand what the process is and being able to rely on the water being a safe product.
Council has had at least 10 months to provide enough information to the community but has failed to hold public meetings to hear people's views.
Given that this project has been on the Council drawing board since around 2000, that makes around 6 years of failing to engage the community ...

They have put out their booklet and the people have not wanted to read it because they do not believe what's in it.
We understand the process and we do not want it.
All we want is to see this poll come round and then we can say NO!
That is the only way that the other options will be back on the table and considered properly.
It is wonderful to talk to people and hear them tell each other what they think the plan should be.
The message will be out loud and clear after the Public Meeting.
All we have to do is wait and see is if they have the courage to show up. We all doubt it.
