Council Committee meetings - to guarantee or not ...

Among the agenda items for this week's Toowoomba City Council Committee meetings is dealing with the requests from Toowoomba residents that the Council and Councillors guarantee the quality of the water to be supplied under any recycled sewage project.

See - Council asked for guarantees.

It is going to be very interesting to see how they can guarantee something that hasn't even been tested yet and is a first in the world. This should really test there intelligence and commitment to there project which threatens one of our dams if the system fails.
We need to be able to hold them personally responsible with some legal document. It would be unfair for future councils to have to clean up there mess!

Read the meeting agenda - they are only offering waffling statements about water quality.

Noone is prepared to sign off on the recycled sewage.

What is wrong with this council. On a recent visit to the Gold Coast we saw council water trucks getting around with recycled water on them, with a purple background.

Why can't this council use recycled water on its parks and gardens instead of using bore water, which is potential potable water.

Does this council not care!!!!

All this council wants to do is drain the potable water and scare people more, so they can convince poeple of the need to use recycled water for potable water.

All this council wants to do is introduce its sewage scheme. It doesn't want to put the recycled sewage on the plants - it wants to sell it to you - it's much more profitable!
