A number of people were surprised by the shock resignations of Mayor Thorley and Deputy Mayor Ramia - until they realised it was an April Fool's Day prank.

A number of people have expressed the view about how disheartened they were upon learning that the news was not true.

Clearly people thought that their resignations might clear the path for some sensible decision making on Toowoomba's water supply issues.
