Toowoomba City Council alienates 32,330 voters ...

... decides it's time to recycle its failed Water Futures funding application.

Toowoomba City Council tries the closest thing it knows to funding a sequel to a cheap B grade movie which bombed at the box office first time out.

By trying to revive the failed Water Future project, the Toowoomba City Council will achieve the one thing they should be doing anything to avoid:

- to keep the Water Futures issue as the No. 1 election issue in March 2008.

The next Council election will be another chance for Toowoomba (and the expanded region) to vote on whether they want the Toowoomba City Council to build a recycled water plant.

Not content with the referendum belting they received in July 2006 and the overwhelming support for Cr Manners at the subsequent by-election, the Yes Councillors seem to be wanting to try their luck once again.

Brave, very brave ...

We all hope that at least Beer and Barron have the guts to stand beside Snow!!!
We don't want a plant build here now as it dose not solve our water shortage.
Big question is "Who worked out these new figures and did they use an American firm again without telling any-one?"

This decision should be left to the incoming Council that the people elect next March.

Why won't this lot read the letter from Anna Bligh as it has said No and they mean NO!!
Cr. Manners has said that a few times in Council on more than one occasion.
The federal government are not going to give money in the lead up to an election.

What has happened to the bore into the GAB at Wetella and why is it not hooked up if we are so desperate for water???

This council is mad. What part of the NO word don't they understand.

The American company obviously still has some pull with the council. About time the truth came out!

Ian Macfarlane will hopefully treat any submission with the contempt it deserves - if the Coalition wishes to keep Groom
