Toowoomba City Councillor Alroe - off with the fairies ...
Talk to any developer in Toowoomba and they will tell you that the delays experienced dealing with the bureaucracy in the Toowoomba City Council are enough to make you pull your hair out.
Cr Alroe seems oblivious to this - but perhaps this is no surprise.
Excerpt from ABC News:
Council not expecting Govt regulation
8 June 2007
Toowoomba City Council does not believe its planning department will be a target for State Government regulation.
Deputy Premier Anna Bligh has hinted the Government may impose standard infrastructure charges, claiming that unnecessarily high local Government fees are being passed on by developers to home buyers.
Ms Bligh has also suggested that the Queensland Government will streamline planning processes to reduce lengthy waiting times.
Councillor Michele Alroe denies either problem is an issue at Toowoomba, and says the council is doing what the Government has asked.
See - Alroe speaks complete rubbish.
