About Me
- Name: Concerned Ratepayer
- Location: Australia
For many years, the 4350water blog has informed readers of plans by the Toowoomba City Council (now Toowoomba Regional Council) and the Qld government to introduce recycled water for drinking in Toowoomba. It has also looked at the issue from a State and Federal perspective and dealt with related State and Federal political issues. There continues to be a need for the Toowoomba Regional Council to be completely transparent in its dealings with the ratepayers and residents of Toowoomba. There also continues to be a need for open debate on the benefits and risks of potable reuse and long-term studies on the effects on humans of drinking recycled water. Coal seam gas water is emerging as a possible alternate water source for some uses for the region. The 4350water blog is a collective effort and thanks go to its many contributors.

They won't show, because we all know about their lies. Bottled water from singapore is cop out for YES votes, is that all they have.

It will be interesting to see the Council's reaction following the meeting on Saturday. Expect a bit of a crowd to turn up to hear what is said.
On Monday, expect comments from the Council such as:
- there weren't that many people there
- they were lied to
- it doesn't show how many people will vote no
- they bused people in from other cities
- they were mostly yes voters anyway
- they have been brainwashed
- if they just tasted the Singapore water, they would change their minds.
The Council has continually misread the community. Sometimes people just want to have their say. After 10 months of the Council trying to shove the Water Futures project down our throats, it would be no surprise if the community wanted to be heard.
Tomorrow's community water meeting is one opportunity.
29 July is another opportunity to be heard.
