Anna Bligh's government to Dr Stuart Khan - help us trash the expert ...
That seems to be the case.
See - Water Recycling blog - Qld government on the phone.
The Qld government's on the phone to the academics. Help us trash the reputation of another expert. He's not on our 'team'.
It's interesting that the Bligh government seems more interested in trying to destroy people who speak out against Anna's recycled water project than engaging in discussion about recycled water with the community.
Then again, this is a government which has legislated to remove any government liability if something goes wrong with the recycled water experiment so why are we not surprised ...

Ten bucks says the QWC tells Khan to take down his blogpost and another ten says he does what he's told.

Hello,
I was simply asked whether I knew where the quoted figure of 8 per cent came from. The source was not obvious (and in fact the figure is incorrect regarding the data in the source). I would think it perfectly reasonable that people who will be expected to respond to the media would want to know where the number came from. Not to investigate would seem negligible to me.
If my blogpost stays up (and why wouldn’t it?), can I have the 20 bucks?

"Premier Anna Bligh yesterday rejected Troy's claims and launched a personal attack on the academic."
It's a pity you were dragged into Bligh's personal attack by providing her with the info for her to go on the offensive.
It's one of the problems of getting involved in projects which become political - politicians will sacrifice anyone to achieve their goal.

Right about now the QWC is thinking how do we shut down the blogs!

ABC News:
Bligh swears recycled water safe for drinking
30 October 2008
Premier Anna Bligh is trying to reassure residents in south-east Queensland that recycled water will be safe to drink when it is pumped into dams early next year.
Some scientists say the treatment processes will not remove all biological waste molecules or viruses.
Ms Bligh has told Parliament that the Australian standards for recycled water will be met.
"The standard for virus removal require a further reduction beyond treated effluent of 99.99 per cent," she said.
"Our plant won't just do that - it will take it out at 99.99 per cent."

It is just that 0.01% Anna -why do we not believe you? - I now see the adverts show that some of the contaminants do get through the membranes

Bligh depending on personal attacks against others - starting with Springbord and now the Professor - when you have nothing to say - you attack the person - watch the US election

Trust us. Have we ever let you down before?

Anna's arguing the difference between 8% and .01% but she can't show any long term research to back up her claims.

How anybody with elderley parents or young children can support this diabolical scheme is beyond me

Where's Nosworthy - when it boils down to the nitty, gritty it is the State Labor government behind this evil experiment
7:35 PM, October 30, 2008
Nosworthy and QWC were always just another branch of the Labor government. QWC was set up as a way of deflecting blame for water problems from Bligh but it fails miserably. Nosworthy hides behind poles, lounges in her big swimming pool and presides over companies going bankrupt. Bligh would probably love to sack her but couldn't stand the negative PR.
