Toowoomba to try its luck with more bores ...

Excerpt from Blues Couuntry Magazine:

New bores to ease Toowoomba's thirst

1 October 2007

Toowoomba, Queensland's largest inland city, will receive more than $11.8 million in emergency grant funding from the State Government to construct emergency water bores tapping the Great Artesian Basin.

The funding, announced by Premier Anna Bligh, comes after Toowoomba’s Wetalla bore failed to deliver water of suitable drinking quality.

"Council will now undertake immediate measures, including drilling two additional emergency bores to access an additional 3,000 megalitres each year," she says.

The new bore sites, near Cooby Dam and north of the Warrego Highway at Nass Road, will be tested for water quantity and quality prior to installation of permanent infrastructure.

Luck has nothing to do with it.
There has always been water there and this engineer has been determined to try to tell us otherwise because he wants his recycled sewage plant and can not have it.

In a drought it will not work, Kevvie!
