Beattie government - hold a referendum and get the sack ...

Isn't it about time that we looked at how many state politicans we have that are drawing money out of the coffers, who really serve no purpose. Why do we need so many of them, time for change at a state level as well.

It seems that the Goff Whitlam's master plan will come about. Beattie has nothing to loose as he is off to London!

All we want to see is Beattie gone soon and then the fight will be on and Anna will have many knives in her back the moment she steps up to take the role of Premier.
The back room boys are working on it now!!!

Beattie bends on local votes

30 July 2007

Some proposed names may also be changed, but the State Government has remained firm in its staunch opposition to council referendums on the merger plan.

Premier's plan beaten around in the bush

30 July 2007

A chorus of angry booing and chants of "bugger off Beattie" and "Fraser the fornicator" welcomed the Premier and Local Government Minister to Barcaldine yesterday.

People threw eggs, threatened to block Peter Beattie and Andrew Fraser's exit from the town and hurled abuse throughout a prayer in a day of high emotion in the central western town.

Surrounding the bare trunk of the dead Tree of Knowledge, about 800 people came to town to protest against the State Government's plans to forcibly amalgamate local shires.
