Bligh to import sewage ...

... source not important.

The Qld Labor government has announced plans to have neighbouring shires pump their sewage to Brisbane so that it can be processed into recycled water for Brisbane people to drink.

This follows the revelation that Brisbane's water restrictions mean that there is less sewage to recycle. The same thing occurred in Toowoomba, making the Water Futures project completely unviable.

Is the next decision of the Beattie regime to import sewage from other countries so that it can be processed into recycled water for people in Brisbane to drink? Will we see tankers shipping sewage from Asia where it will purchased cheaply - $1 per tonne perhaps - then recycled and sold for huge profits to Brisbane residents?

How long will this farce continue?

Recycled water is not the magic water source solution proposed by the Beattie government.

It is not a new source of water ...
