Anna's advisers must be telling her to get off the topic of water for a few days.

How?

Talk about daylight saving - hint about a split with Beattie and then wait for Pete to come back from his trip and reassure Qlders that there will be no daylight saving.

C'mon Anna - you've got to come up with less transparent games if you want to fool the voters.

Excerpt from the Courier Mail:

Bligh breaks ranks on daylight saving

21 March 2007

Queensland's Deputy Premier Anna Bligh says she would love to see daylight saving in the Sunshine State - despite Premier Peter Beattie's staunch opposition.

As another daylight saving period ends in other states this weekend, Ms Bligh broke ranks with her boss to express support for winding the clocks forward in summer.

"Personally I'd love to see daylight saving in the southeast corner," Ms Bligh said.

"But I'm very mindful that it's not something that would apply easily to other parts of the state, and I'm very ambivalent about the prospect of having different time zones within one state boundary."

Her comments put her directly at odds with Mr Beattie who has long been opposed to daylight saving, as well as to two different time zones.
