NWC - Townsville rejected - not a regional approach ...

In a clear sign that the National Water Commission does not know the meaning of the word "consistency", it has rejected an application for funding by Townsville.

The NWC response included a statement that "in light of other similar proposals from the Townsville region, commissioners believed future projects from proponents in the area should be in the context of an overall integrated water management plan for the region."

See - Water row miffs Mayor.

A number of people have called for a regional approach to solving Toowoomba's water source issues.

Then the NWC and the Federal government provide conditional approval for the Toowoomba City Council's controversial recycled sewage plan while also approving Dalby's innovative gas water and recycling project.

It seems odd to call for a regional approach in one part of Queensland and then isolate Toowoomba as the only city in the region to attempt a recycled water for drinking project.

That's not very consistent ...

And meanwhile our federal member for Groom Ian McFarlane sits back and does nothing while we get treated to a one-side referendum and farcical treatment from the Beattie government, TCC, Malcom Turnbull and the yankee drink recycled water brigade. So much for his commitment to and concern of the constituents of Toowoomba.

Turnbull said that he had spoken to Premier Beattie and he was assured that there was no other water. We all know better and if dams can be built for Brisbane and surrounding areas, we can have some water from one of them.
The cost of a pipeline from Wivenhoe Dam is $30M and that is very affordable and very acceptable as we would only draw from it when needed in times of drought.
The figure quoted by the Labour State government is $115M and this is just one example of what this government will do to support our mayor and use of the poo-rified wee-cycled water for drinking so that we can be that experiment for the rest of Australia.

And the referendum is going to be fixed, because that is what they want. We are to be test subjects, the referendum is just something to shut us up and to spend more of our money. The final out come will be a YES even thou the result will be 99.99% against, the 0.01% being Thorley's band of POO DRINKERS.

Beattie stated, "water water every and plenty to drink", but is should say "Water Water everywhere, but let Toowoomba recycle and drink shit, posion, chemicals, and all the other stuff we flush and poor down the drain."

The cost shouldn't be an issue, since they can so easily throw millions into a referendum, which could be used to help fund pipelines and new dams.
