$3 billion being spent on water sources ...

From the Courier Mail:

"To prevent the region being dry by the end of 2008, $3 billion will be spent over the next two years to build dams, a desalination plant and a water grid and recycled water pipelines."

See - It's not yet watertight.

No mention of the Toowoomba Water Futures project in the article or whether the $3 billion spending includes this project.

However, the Beattie government is spending large sums on two dams in south-east Qld, the weirs, the desalination plant, pipelines to create a water grid and the recycled water pipelines to the power stations and for irrigation purposes

Toowoomba looks like the lost lamb in the paddock. Left out of all these projects - no access to the new dams, no access to Wivenhoe and water from the desalination plant which will be piped to Wivenhoe and no access to the water grid.

What did Toowoomba do to deserve such isolation?
