About Me
- Name: Concerned Ratepayer
- Location: Australia
For many years, the 4350water blog has informed readers of plans by the Toowoomba City Council (now Toowoomba Regional Council) and the Qld government to introduce recycled water for drinking in Toowoomba. It has also looked at the issue from a State and Federal perspective and dealt with related State and Federal political issues. There continues to be a need for the Toowoomba Regional Council to be completely transparent in its dealings with the ratepayers and residents of Toowoomba. There also continues to be a need for open debate on the benefits and risks of potable reuse and long-term studies on the effects on humans of drinking recycled water. Coal seam gas water is emerging as a possible alternate water source for some uses for the region. The 4350water blog is a collective effort and thanks go to its many contributors.

Gerald Tooth and crew are running out of examples as to where it is done in the world.
It is true :- Brisbane and both the North and South Coasts are to be used as the " Living Laboratoty"!
These are the words stated in the CSIRO report on the Toowoomba project but the Toowoomba people had a vote and it was rejected so they moved on to Brisbane and surrounding area to be used as the the test case.
People should be demanding a vote on the use of processed sewage because the government should not be able to put the community at risk when they can not guarantee that it is 100% safe.

Do you honestly believe that he water you receive now is 100% safe?...

The 4350water blog has never claimed that the water currently delivered is 100% safe.
4350water blog has consistently objected to the Toowoomba City Council and the Qld government using some very dodgy examples as the rationale for putting recycled water through household taps.
4350water blog has also objected to the lack of long-term studies showing recycled water is safe.
The government's campaign from the start has been one of misleading the public - give them some examples, don't tell them that most countries are pushing ahead with desal plants. Get it in before anyone notices and then it will be too late.
Regardless of your views on recycled water, the government's campaign has been one of deception and the public deserves better.
