Toowoomba Regional Council - does Ruby need a new day job ...

With the vote count all but declared, it looks increasingly like Michelle "Ruby" Schneider has fallen short in her bid to be elected to the Toowoomba Regional Council.

Some of the harsher critics will say that she harboured ambitions to be Mayor with the outgoing Mayor supposed to hand the baton to her.

Beattie's amalgamation plans and the water debate may have torpedoed her plan although those who saw her in a Council meeting would doubt that the electorate would ever be sufficiently intellectually challenged to elect her Mayor.

She still trails in position 11 - and there are no prizes for 11th place.

Will she ask for a recount?

That may indicate whether she's a loser in the Council race or a sore loser ...
