Excerpt from Mayoral candidate Manners' address to the Hume Ridge meeting:

I will negotiate to establish Toowoomba Regional Council as the Regional Water Authority independent from Brisbane and responsible for the establishment of the Darling Downs Water Grid.

I am adamant that recycled water will never enter our drinking supplies. But reusing water in ways acceptable to the whole community is an integral part of a modern water strategy. On that basis we can all move forward together.
