- the current Toowoomba City Councillors were MIA (with the exception of Alroe and Manners).

- the inability of Mayoral candidate Taylor to answer a question but wanting to tell people how much he owned around the place (very Alan Bond-ish).

- Mayoral candidate Manners gave a well rounded speech.

- the name of the new Council turns out to be a significant voter issue.

- Councillor candidate Morley asks the question all voters want to ask the candidates.
