Breaking news : Mayoral candidate Taylor expelled from polling booth ...
Late this afternoon, Mayoral candidate Peter Taylor was trawling for votes on the east side of the city and was asked by officials to leave the East State School polling booth.
His conduct was less than appropriate for an election candidate.
He blocked the entrance to the polling booth so that people trying to enter the East State School polling booth needed to squeeze past him into the polling area.
No doubt trying to be the last person voters saw before heading in to vote.
A polling official took exception to his conduct and asked him to leave the premises.
His excuse - "I was just going to the toilet".
His attempt to influence voters seems to have fallen flat with one voter heard calling him 'arrogant' and declaring they wouldn't be voting for him ...

Don't believe all the shit you hear. Not in a narrow city like Toowoomba that has not had any real debate for a decade and a City where compromise is unknown.

Not something heard Ross - was something actually witnessed. Taylor being tossed out of East State School around 4pm. He was not happy.

It sounds like "concerned rate payer" is struggling to deal with the views of the majority. Peter Taylor is our Mayor - live with it!! Time to stop the small minded nastiness.

Not struggling with Taylor's victory at all. This blog post reported an event which happened on Saturday afternoon and was posted before the election results were known. It was considered newsworthy and hence posted.
