Premier Beattie - not sure which way is up ...

Comes a time when you've stretched the truth so much, you don't know the difference any more.

Excerpt from ABC News:

Last month, Mr Beattie said fines were not necessary, but now says he may have to reconsider.

"None of us like these measures, the water commission is our adviser, they're independent, they've raised the issue of fines, they've raised the issue of talking to councils, let's see what comes back," he said.

See - No, they really are independent.

The people of SEQ are not so easily fooled.

They understand the Beattie two-step approach.

Get the QWC to suggest draconian measures and then introduce something less harsh while blaming the so-called 'independent' QWC for suggesting something the voters won't wear.

The QWC is about as independent as the rest of Beattie's gaggle of Labor politicians.

Imagine what Beattie would say if (as unlikely as it may be) the QWC suddenly stopped advocating recycled water for drinking. Then you'd see just how 'independent' the QWC is ...
