Excerpt from Qld Business Review:

31 October 2006

Queensland resources company Metallica Minerals has announced a $2 million joint venture aimed at converting its south east Queensland coal to liquid fuels.

The company has entered an agreement with Eastern Mining Corporation (EMC), a subsidiary of Brisbane-based coal-to-liquids specialist, Ambre Energy.

The terms of the agreement could see EMC take a 75% stake in Metallica’s Condamine Coal project tenements for the outlay of $2 million in exploration and evaluation.

Metallica managing director Andrew Gillies says EMC will soon commence a drilling program on the Condamine tenements, located between Toowoomba and Warwick.
