For many years, the 4350water blog has informed readers of plans by the Toowoomba City Council (now Toowoomba Regional Council) and the Qld government to introduce recycled water for drinking in Toowoomba. It has also looked at the issue from a State and Federal perspective and dealt with related State and Federal political issues. There continues to be a need for the Toowoomba Regional Council to be completely transparent in its dealings with the ratepayers and residents of Toowoomba. There also continues to be a need for open debate on the benefits and risks of potable reuse and long-term studies on the effects on humans of drinking recycled water. Coal seam gas water is emerging as a possible alternate water source for some uses for the region. The 4350water blog is a collective effort and thanks go to its many contributors.

A last desperate gasp from the recycled water company supporters?
We all look forward to being convinced. We have been "waiting to see" for 10 months now.
Why has the Council been unable to explain to Toowoomba residents what is in the 30mg/l TDS going into Cooby Dam which it covered up for many months?
Why does Council avoid this issue?
Why does Council avoid dealing with the RO waste stream issue? Expect a $70 million cost blowout which will be added to Toowoomba City Council debt to be borne by the ratepayers. That's on top of the over 75% debt increase based on Council's somewhat rubbery figures.
Why is Council too scared to allow a "balanced" referendum question?
Why has Council now disbanded its Advisory Panel? Like Pure H20, it said its "job was done" Didn't seem like it was done.
Was the Advisory Panel becoming a liability with more members privately voicing their concerns at Council's actions?
And why is it "sour grapes" to wish for accountability within Toowoomba City Council?
The referendum is becoming less about the Council's recycled sewage project and more about the accountability of elected officials to the voting public.

Isn't it illegal to have closed mettings, or at least there must be be a neutral party sitting in.... Just more criminal activity the TCC is doing.
