MP Turnbull on the need for community support ...
Comments in the Australian on 2 March 2006:
“And the decision as to whether a particular community wants to put recycled waste water back into the drinking water stream has to be a decision for that community. The reality is that a project of this kind will not succeed without community support."
Where does this leave the Toowoomba City Council?

Projects to make resdients drink recycled effluent should be made illegal. There are many other ways we can use the water!

Using recycled water for drinking should be a last resort.
It should be used for industrial and commercial uses, freeing up drinking water for drinking.
Councils which adopt this strategy will find community support for their proposals.

The council will only get community support when it stops trying to force this project down people's throats!
Has the council not heard it said enough times - the community does not want to drink recycled water.
If they haven't heard it yet - they will at the next council election.
