SEQ recycled water - Bligh on track with water ...

Excerpt from Sunday Mail:

Bligh on track with water

22 November 2008

Premier Anna Bligh has moved decisively to end confusion over the addition of recycled water to supplies in southeast Queensland.

It will go ahead until we have enough water and that, according to the Queensland Water Commission, will not be until the dams are full.

Some have cautioned against using recycled sewerage-system water but the QWC is adamant it is safe.

There is no reason to believe those who have gained headlines by voicing their doubts are any better credentialled than the experts on which the QWC and, ultimately, the Government relies.

Exploiting recycled water was the right decision when our dam levels were at 16 per cent and it remains the right decision now they are 46 per cent.

This paper applauded then premier Peter Beattie when he dumped a proposed referendum and bit the bullet on recycling. It would be hypocritical to now condemn Ms Bligh for finishing the job.

Recent rains are a welcome bonus but they are not the end of the water crisis. It is a continuing problem that demands long-term planning rather than short-term panic-mongering.

Recycled water might not be the most pleasant solution but it is the only practical solution.

See - Anna wants you to drink recycled water.

"This" paper was wrong then and is wrong now - since when do media moguls try and run society for their will - is it to get a news story to say goodbye Anna

She's not gone yet and it will take a herculian effort by the LNP to dislodge her. And the LNP aren't showing yet that they are up to the task. Beyond Springborg, who is there of note in the LNP lineup?

Wait and see what comes of the next election when the LNP wins more seats, and see the labour party go into the sunset.

Bligh has gone mad!

It's not a foregone conclusion. As an example, do you really think the LNP can beat Kerry Shine in Toowoomba North? Have you seen the candidate they are putting up?

Let's put it this way a dover's dog could beat the Labor Party next time.
Kerry Shine will be one of the seats to go.

Anyone who thinks that a drover's dog can beat Labor in Qld next time around is fooling themselves. You have to have a viable opposition to elect and the LNP isn't there yet. Look at the last NSW election. Labor were really on the nose and the Liberals fell over themselves and lost.

SEQWATER - has a new website showing information for ALL South East Queensland Water Storages - as we are now on a GRID why is the official SEQWater Totals - % in storage - always quoted as just the levels of Wivenhoe - Somerset and North Pine Dams? (now at 45.41%)

This SEQWater % total - does not include ALL water in storage in SEQ - so if my maths is correct using the SEQWater Website information - the combined water storage for ALL SEQ water storages is above 50% - as at 21st November 2008

Although this total is not displayed on the new website so you have to do the maths yourself....

Toowoomba is not part of and is not going to be part of the SEQ Water Grid so what missing water is being referred to?

If the Labor Govt is voted back in again then you can kiss Qld goodbye. The LNP needs to start working NOW to show this Socialist Govt up. Of course the Courier Mail and the Chronicle only print what the Govt allows them tp print. Even the Opposition Party cannot get their stories printed if it is detrimental to the Govt. The LNP need to use the Web to be able to enlighten the people as to what really goes on in Govt.

HINZE Dam for example ...

9:34 AM, November 25, 2008

why is Hinze Dam not included in the SEQWater's: Total % in Storage for SEQ - my understanding is Hinze Dam is within the SEQWater Storages - so why not include it -

Why quote SEQ % as just the three dams of Wivenhoe, Somerset and North Pine -
when Water Storages for SEQ on the SEQWater website include:

Atkinson Dam
Baroon Pocket Dam
Bill Gunn Dam
Borumba Dam
Cedar Pocket Dam
Hinze Dam
Lake Clarendon
Lake Kurwongbah
Lake Macdonald
Leslie Harrison
Maroon Dam
Moogerah Dam
North Pine Dam
Somerset Dam
Wivenhoe Dam

With all these water storages in SEQ - Why limit the combined % Totals for SEQ as only Wivenhoe - Somerset and North Pine Dams ?

Add up the figures today for ALL SEQWater storages and if my maths is correct Water Storages in SEQ today are at a combined level of:
51.86%

There is no total % however on the new SEQWater website so you need to do the maths for yourself ..
