Are Crs Albion, Alroe, Englart, Ramia and Schneider worth $1.66m - $1.91m ...
... because that's the minimum collectively they'll be paid by ratepayers over a 4 year period (including transitional allowances) if re-elected in their current positions.
See - Councillors' new pay scales.
Somewhere between $1,662,040 and $1,915,040.
Almost $2 million for their services.
Would Toowoomba and the surrounding region be getting value for money?
What have they done over the past 4 years?
Something to consider ...

The simple answer to that question is NO!
They are no worth the $62,000+ car +++++ they get now.
What have they done in the last 4 years?
The roads are a mess and businesses have left in droves.
We need to see Manners as our new Mayor and a good team with him.

Not worth it! Why let them stuff 2 million in their pockets and sit around doing nothing for 4 more years.

Over 4 years:
Deputy Mayor Ramia:
$85,430 to $98,080 x 4 = $341,720 to $392,320
plus integration allowance:
$9,180 + $6,890 + $4,590 + 2,300 = $22,960
Subtotal = $364,680 to $415,280
Cr Albion:
$75,940 to $88,590 x 4 = $303,760 to $354,360
plus integration allowance:
$8,230 + $6,170 + $4,120 + $2,060 = $20,580
Subtotal = $324,340 to $374,940
Cr Alroe:
$75,940 to $88,590 x 4 = $303,760 to $354,360
plus integration allowance:
$8,230 + $6,170 + $4,120 + $2,060 = $20,580
Subtotal = $324,340 to $374,940
Cr Englart:
$75,940 to $88,590 x 4 = $303,760 to $354,360
plus integration allowance:
$8,230 + $6,170 + $4,120 + $2,060 = $20,580
Subtotal = $324,340 to $374,940
Cr Schneider:
$75,940 to $88,590 x 4 = $303,760 to $354,360
plus integration allowance:
$8,230 + $6,170 + $4,120 + $2,060 = $20,580
Subtotal = $324,340 to $374,940
Total x 4 Councillors = $1,297,360 to $1,499,760
Total x 4 Councillors + Deputy Mayor = $1,662,040 to $1,915,040
This excludes reimbursement of expenses - telephone, fuel etc - and superannuation. Figure on adding another 20% to the amounts ($2-2.3 million).

Why would we pay Joe another $400,000 so he can say inane things like in today's paper -
"Yes, it will be a bitter pill to swallow, but it's like taxes you know - you can buck and scream all you want, but the buck stops with them now doesn't it?" Cr Ramia said.
"Yes, I'm glad it's out of our hands. Council made a decision not to go with the fluoride treatment because of the cost issue, now the (State Government) has decided to pay for it - it's a tough decision but there are many benefits."

And how much do we pay the engineer for his brilliant insights -
Director of Engineering Kevin Flanagan proffered: "It's always a surprise drilling underground."

'Stuff 2 million in their pockets'...seriously, what planet are you on! The councillors are merely receiving a salary for a job to which they have been elected...by a majority of the people!
These salaries are only a small fraction of the salary that an executive in private enterprise would receive for bearing the same responsiblities!
This is a boring and dead argument! Get a life!

Is it worth wasting another $2 million of ratepayers' money on these individuals or should we try some others?
Is THEIR expertise worth $2 million over the next 4 years?
