NSW Libs: Debnam backflip on recycled water ...

Mr Debnam admitted his own views had changed in recent weeks, after comments came to light in which he said he was "absolutely" opposed to drinking treated sewage.
"In terms of feeding back into drinking water, no, it's not desirable," Mr Debnam told The Weather Channel in an interview in November 2005 that was broadcast last night on Channel Ten. "It's unacceptable to the people of NSW, and we won't be pursuing it."
Mr Debnam said yesterday he had changed his mind because of dwindling supplies and a change in public attitudes. "The community mood has shifted," he said. "It has been going on for some time."
But the Premier, Morris Iemma, accused Mr Debnam of a "flip flop". "A sprinkle of rain and an opinion poll and he has changed his mind again," he said.

Back in 2005, Debnam wasn't courting Green preferences. Perhaps he should take the electorate's temperature again ...

I cannot believe these politicians who are advocating adding recycled sewage water to the drinking supplies of the ordinary Australian. I bet they are not going to drink it. They will have rainwater tanks, unlimited bottled water and so will their families. How dare they play Russian Roulette with our health! It seems as if recycled water is in the same category as Religion and Politics - no one can have a rational debate.
Thank goodness Morris Iemma the NSW Premier has a sensible approach. A lot of people will be moving to NSW from Qld if Premier Beattie goes ahead with his mad schemes. Please don't vote for the Liberal Party in NSW and I am usually a Conservative voter.
