Mayor Thorley, the people have spoken ...

Mayor Thorley is to be a guest speaker at a forum at the River Festival in Brisbane and up until a week ago so was the CADS coordinator Mrs Rosemary Morley.
With out any explanation Mrs Morley was dropped from this forum.
It would seem that the organizers do not want a balanced debate.

We will also see a profile in the Courier Mail on Sunday of Mayor Thorley "The women who took a strong stand"!
One wonders why the article would not be about the lady who lead the fight and won and instead it's about the looser?

Premier Beattie may not want the voters to be reminded that he supports recycled sewage water into their dams in the greater S/E Qld.

This should be a wake up call to all voters, you can not trust this Premier.

Shouldn't that profile in the Courier Mail of Mayor Thorley be titled "The Mayor who should have resigned!"?

Mayor Thorley is in image damage control mode - as is the recycled sewage industry. What better way than a favourable press article?

They need to show the Mayor as the woman who put up the brave fight. The battler against the 'flat-earthers'.

However, as much as the industry tries to distance themselves from the Toowoomba referendum result (by claiming it was the yuk factor which lead to the No vote success), it will continue to haunt their attempts to make people in Australia drink recycled sewage.

In the Mayor's case, as much as she tries to remake her image in the Brisbane newspaper, ultimately it's the same Toowoomba voters she must face in 2008 (if she decides to run again). And 62% said they did not think she was being honest about the Water Futures project.
